Student Choreographer Selection Process

Our dancers start preparing work as early as the spring (immediately after auditions).  Dancers submit an application to present their work and then sign up for an audition time slot.  Directors select student pieces based on the following criteria:  artistic movement invention and original thought, style variety, level of dance/performance technique and room for growth/exploration. Once selected, student choreographers take on leadership roles within the company and are expected to follow through with a variety of organizational and managerial tasks outside of creating and setting movement on their peers.
